The discharging water will have the same pressure as your normal household water pressure, so the drain line will need to be secured. The unit will discharge water out of the drain during a backwash. The CAF control valve has a 1/2" female drain port on the opposite side of the control valve handle.Fittings (not provided) will be needed to adapt the Dole valve to and from your piping and to the CAF control valve. The 5-gpm Dole valve (3/4") needs to be installed on the INLET side of the Acid Neutralizer. The DOWN arrow is the INLET and the UP arrow is the OUTLET. On top of the CAF control valve are two 1" Male NPT pipe threads.Make sure to tighten evenly by screwing one side a couple of turns, and then the other side a couple of turns until snug. The swivel nut with the UP arrow will screw onto the OUT port. The swivel nut with the DOWN arrow will screw onto the IN port. Directly above each of the swivel nuts are arrows. The 1 1/4" male adapters have an "o ring" that seals them to the swivel nuts.DO NOT USE PTFE thread sealing tape on the male 1 1/4" manifold adapters. The two swivel nuts will screw onto the two manifold adapters. The CAF Manual control valve has two female swivel nuts attached to the valve.Step 4: Install the CAF Manual control valve. The "IN" port is on the LEFT and the "OUT" port is on the RIGHT.

During a backwash, there needs to be room for the Calcite to move inside the tank. The Calcite and the Sand/Gravel together will only fill the tank 3/4 full. Pour the approximately 15 pounds of Sand/Gravel into the 10" x 44" tank.Using a funnel (you can make a funnel or buy a $2 oil funnel locally) Do not unscrew the entire tank manifold from off of the tank.

The fill plug is just to the side of the IN and OUT ports. Unscrew (counter clockwise) the fill plug on the XPI tank manifold.(If Sand/Gravel is already installed, then go to Step 2) Step 1: Install the Sand/Gravel and Calcite (also known as Limestone - food grade).ADA Compliant & Independent Living Aids.
